Our Summer Apartments at Östra Flygeln, Folk High School Student Apartments

The apartments are located in the former military area where KA3-Coastal Artillery was previously based, centrally in Fårösund. From Midsummer until August 15th, Bunge Hostel rents out the Folk High School’s student apartments. Here, you stay comfortably in apartments with two beds, a shower and toilet, and a practical kitchenette.

Facilities and Services

The apartments are rented as self-catering. The Ica Supermarket Bungehallen is 500 m away, where you will also find a bus stop.

There is free Wi-Fi in both the common areas and in the rooms, making it easy to stay connected or plan your activities.

For those who want to explore the beautiful surroundings, bikes and kayaks are available for rent.

We have a laundry room available for our guests, as well as a larger guest kitchen with a coffee maker and oven.

Car parking is available right by the accommodation, and for guests driving electric cars, charging stations are available at Gotlands Idrottscenter and Ica.

If you travel by public transport, bus number 20 runs from Visby to Fårösund. For current bus schedules, visit www.gotland.se.

Things to See and Do

Östra Flygeln is an excellent choice for those who want to explore Northern Gotland and Fårö. For the adventurous, there is the option to rent bikes or kayaks and paddle along Gotland’s unique coastline. From Fårösund, you can easily take the free car ferry to Fårö, where you can experience fantastic natural attractions such as the famous sea stacks and unique hiking trails. There are expansive sandy beaches, and you can visit the Bergman Center.

We are also neighbors with the Bunge Museum, one of Sweden’s largest open-air museums, where you can travel back in time and discover Gotland’s cultural history.

For those seeking excitement, Gotland’s Trampoline Park is nearby, perfect for both children and adults who want to jump and have fun. If you prefer a more relaxing experience, you can take a trip to the upcoming National Park, where you can hike in untouched nature and enjoy the wild beauty of Northern Gotland.

Another popular destination is the Blue Lagoon, where you can swim in the crystal-clear water of an old limestone quarry. Not far away are the limestone quarries at Smöjen, offering a perfect place for swimming and relaxation in a beautiful environment.

No trip to Northern Gotland is complete without a visit to the Lergrav sea stack area, known for its unique geology and the famous “Lovers’ Gate,” a natural limestone sculpture shaped by the forces of nature.

Our reception is unstaffed and offers self-service for smooth check-in and check-out. You will receive an SMS the day before with information about your check-in.

To find Bunge Hostel from Visby Ferry Terminal, follow road 148 north of Visby. The distance is about 57 km.
